About FTLWOM

Our Church History

On Sunday, February 12, 1978, a band of worshipers, with Rev. Ernest Carter as their shepherd, met in the home of Bro. and Sis. Arthur Daniels. Our evening service was held at Taskers Chapel A.M.E. Church, where communion was served. That following Sunday, worship services were then held at the Morris Benevolent Hall every Sunday.

On April 26, 1978, Rev. Ernest Carter, Sr. and members assembled at the Eastside Church of God in Christ and were organized by the President and the following council members of the Amite River Progressive Association: Rev. David Carter, Sr., Rev. Samuel Brown, Rev. T.L. Jones, and Rev. James Brown. During the first meeting, the following officers of the church were temporarily appointed: Sis. Lottie White (financial secretary), Sis. Venol Watson Simmons(recording secretary), and Sis. Colleen Laverne Watson(treasurer). It was moved and seconded that the mission be called First True Love Missionary Baptist Church and Rev. Ernest Carter, Sr.will be the Pastor. The name of the church was suggested by Sis. Clara Bell White.

With faith in the almighty God, the pastor and members ventured to acquire property to build a house of worship. The Lord opened the heart of Sis. Ada Reeves, who sold us a two-acres of land on North Range Road, the pastor and this congregation continued to work and pray. By God’s grace, the building was erected in September, 1979.

First True Love Missionary Baptist Church is exemplary of laborers working together with faith in God, love, and respect. On October 24, 1990, the Lord called home his faithful servant, pastor and founder Rev. Ernest Carter, Sr.

According to Jeremiah 3:15 “And, I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.” On January 15, 1991, Rev. Carl Coleman became the newly appointed pastor of First True Love Missionary Baptist Church. Our elected pastor is striving to fulfill the vision and purpose that the Lord has called for this ministry. In July 2004, First True Love Baptist Church became nondenominational and our name became First True Love World Outreach Ministries.

In June 2005, the foundation was poured for our new house of worship. During the process, Pastor/Teacher Carl Coleman, Sis. Amanda Coleman, and the members remained faithful and never lost faith in God’s vision. The church’s building process was completed debt-free. To God be the glory! Our members were faithful in giving tithes, offerings, and sowing into the kingdom. The vision of the new church building came to fruition. God saw fit for our first service to be held at the new north campus on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014. First True Love World Outreach Ministries continues to serve, teach, equip, and pray for people all over the world.

Mission & Vision

Where God Leads

Scripture: Where there is no vision, the people perish. Proverbs 29:18a

Our mission is to EXALT the Savior.
I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Psalms 34:1

Our mission is to EDIFY the Saints.
We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

Romans 15:1

Our mission is to EQUIP for service.
And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelist; and some, pastors and
teachers;  For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the
body of Christ.      Ephesians 4:11 – 12

Beliefs

Christ's Foundation

WE BELIEVE IN
The Bible: The inspired, infallible, revealed will of God.

The One True God: Creator of all things, a triune being, Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost.

The Salvation of Man: Believing in the heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, and confessing
that with the mouth, will result in man’s salvation.

Water Baptism: An ordinance of the church symbolizing to the world that one had died with
Jesus and has been raised with Him to walk in the newness of life.

The Lord’s Supper: An ordinance of the church symbolizing the broken body and shed blood of
Jesus Christ as the new covenant between God and man.

The Evidence of the Infilling of the Holy Ghost: As a fulfillment of the promise of the Father, for
the purpose of spiritual power in public testimony and service after the New Birth, every born-
again, spirit-filled believer should maintain a consistent prayer life and lifestyle of holiness,
doing good works and putting off the old man with his deeds, habits, and fleshly indulgences.

Total Prosperity: Spiritual (John 3:3), Mental (2 Timothy 1:7), Financial (3 John 2) and Social
(Proverbs 3:4)
